Academic Tutor for Kestrel Community

|Time Commitment & Minimum Age:||Must be 18 years of age or older and Two hours per week, on one afternoon Monday-Friday, according to the BVSD academic calendar. Tutors are asked to commit to at least one semester (August-December, January-May).|

Kestrel is an inclusive, multi-generational, supportive housing community located in Louisville. Kestrel’s Community Center is a space where neighbors come together to learn, share resources, and thrive.
|Duties and Responsibilities:||
Promote and support math, literacy, other content areas, including access to higher education, by tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students through homework support and positive community relationships.
|Qualifications and Requirements:||
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, and have their own transportation or public transportation to the Kestrel Community Center. Excellent volunteers demonstrate cultural sensitivity, patience, and enthusiasm for learning and community. Experience in education is beneficial, but not required. Volunteers must commit to at least two hours a day, once a week.

Volunteers may start at any time, though key start dates are near the beginning of each semester (August and January).
