Summer Forestry Project
|Project Date:||Sat, August 5, 2017 8:30 am - 1:00 pm|
|Opportunity Type:||One-Time Volunteer Opportunity|
|Department:||Parks & Open Space|
|Category:||Open Space, Environment, and Gardening|
Volunteers are needed to help move vegetation and other flammable hazards from areas surrounding the historic Archey-Weir cabin at Hall Ranch. The project’s primary goal is to create an area between structures and oncoming wildfires where vegetation has been managed to reduce threats and allow firefighters to safely defend these structures. We’ll shuttle volunteers to the project area and then hike ½ mile to the actual cabin (one mile round trip).
Registration is required through Discover Boulder County, Parks & Open Space’s new volunteer and event registration system. If you’re new to the system, you’ll need to create an account. But it’s easy and we only use your contact information to communicate about events you register for. We will never sell or give your information to a third party.
