Allenspark Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-off

Allenspark Transfer Station is a staffed facility accepting bagged and loose garbage from households and small businesses for a fee. Recycling is free of charge. Scrap metal is accepted free of charge. The County does not provide trash collection services. Contact your local haulers to arrange pickup.

The Allenspark Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be closed on the following holidays:

  • January 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed)
  • February 20, Presidents’ Day
  • May 29, Memorial Day
  • July 4, Independence Day
  • September 4, Labor Day
  • November 10, Veterans’ Day
  • November 23, Thanksgiving Day
  • November 24, Friday after Thanksgiving
  • December 24, Christmas Eve open until noon
  • December 25, Christmas Day
  • December 31, New Year’s Eve open until noon
  • January 1, New Year’s Day 2018

Recycling Items Accepted

Recycling is collected in separate bins as categorized below.

Corrugated cardboard bin:

  • Corrugated cardboard (please flatten)
  • Brown paper bags

Single-Stream recycling bin:

Containers

  • Aluminum cans and clean foil
  • Steel and tin cans
  • Empty aerosol cans
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastic bottles, tubs, jugs and screw-top jars
  • Paper milk, soy cartons, drink boxes

Mixed paper

  • Newspaper
  • Magazines and catalogs
  • Office paper and opened mail
  • Paperboard
  • Phone books

Textiles

Boulder County contracts with USAgain for placement of a textile drop-off box at this location. USAgain accepts items for reuse/recycling such as:

  • clothes
  • footwear
  • children’s clothing
  • accessories
  • linens

Scrap metal bin:

Scrap metal is accepted free of charge. No salvaging.

  • Appliances WITHOUT Freon®
  • Dishwashers
  • Microwaves
  • Hot water heaters
  • Metal window frames (no glass)
  • Lawnmowers (drained of all fluids)
  • Metal lawn chairs
  • Storm doorsBBQ grills (No tanks)
  • Wheel rims
  • Metal pipes
  • Other items 50% metal or more approved by attendant

Items NOT acceptable for scrap metal recycling

  • Refrigerators
  • Air conditioners
  • Freezers (these items are accepted for a fee)
  • Hazardous wastes such as oil, gasoline, pressurized containers, car batteries, household batteries
  • Tires
  • Computers or other electronic equipment

Trash Disposal Fees

  • $2 – Bag – 13 gal. kitchen trash bag
  • $4 – Bag – 30-33 gal. trash bag (most popular size)
  • $6 – Bag – yard and leaf bag
  • $16 – Loose trash, per cubic yard
  • $25 – Large items such as: couch, desk, dishwasher, washer, dryer, stove
  • $60 – Appliances with CFCs, such as: refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers
  • $40 – Permit, good for ten 30-33 gallon bags or twenty 13 gallon bags or any combination
  • $25 – Automobiles (sedan)
  • $35 – Station Wagon
  • $40 – Pick-up Truck, small
  • $50 – Pick-up Truck, standard – bed level or van
  • $65 – Pick-up Truck, standard – halfway up cab
  • $80 – Pick-up Truck, standard w/side rails – top of cab

NOTE: Our facility does not accept construction and demolition (C&D) material from businesses or contractors.
