Family Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) are public health insurance programs for families, children, and pregnant women. Family Medicaid serves low-income families and pregnant women. CHP+ provides low-cost health and dental insurance for children and pregnant women who make too much to qualify for Medicaid. When you complete an application, you are screened for both programs and you are approved for one or the other based on the program’s income guidelines and other requirements.
Now that you’ve applied for Medicaid and the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) you probably have questions. What happens next? What’s covered? How do I get care? This Guide to Medicaid and CHP+ will answer your questions.
