The Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee (POSAC) reviews proposals and advises Parks & Open Space staff and the County Commissioners on open space issues, new land acquisitions, and the management of existing properties.

POSAC usually meets on the fourth Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19, meetings are held virtually.

How To Participate
Speak Live During the Meeting
Members of the public can register to speak live during the meeting on certain agenda items. Speakers will be required to join the Zoom Webinar and will be asked to speak after the staff presentation to POSAC on each item. Speakers may request to share their camera or screen to display illustrative images (graphs, photos, maps) during their comments.
Comments on Agenda Items Only
The board does not take comments during meetings on items not on the agenda. However, members of the public can submit comments using the comment form below, and all of the members will receive the comments. If it is an issue that is in an active public process, comments must be submitted through the webpage or public meeting dedicated to that topic.
Speaking Times
Generally, each speaker will have a maximum of five minutes per item. In cases where many comments are expected, speakers may be limited to three minutes or another time limitation if appropriate. Pooling of speaker time will be permitted at the discretion of the chair. All speakers wishing to pool their time must be signed up for and present at the meeting. Time allotted for pooled speakers will be determined by the chair, not to exceed a total of ten minutes. Speakers are requested not to repeat statements made by previous speakers other than to express points of agreement or disagreement.

Only those who intend to provide public comment need to register for the meeting. Those who want to watch the meeting can do so on YouTube.

Purpose & Bylaws
POSAC is an advisory board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Boulder County to provide advice to the BOCC and Boulder County Parks & Open Space (BCPOS) department regarding BCPOS plans, programs, and actions.
Advisory Committee Members
Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and serve a three year term. Recruitment for board members occurs two times a year, typically in January and July.

Use the comment form below to submit comments to POSAC. Comments are compiled and sent to POSAC members before the monthly meeting. If you are commenting about an issue that is in an active or scheduled public process, comments must be submitted through that established process.
