Military Record Request

The Boulder County Recording Division - Online/phone services available only (no in-person services)

The Recording Division will remain closed to the public. We have learned over the past year the public has a greater level of access through remote work and it has been wonderfully successful. Continuing remote work for the Recording Division also supports the Election and Motor Vehicle Divisions where remote work is not always possible.

  • Phone and email assistance available during business hours for those who need help with online recording and document searches and/or to provide additional guidance in using 24-hour documents drop box (located in Boulder and Longmont)
  • Marriage licenses are being issued via online video appointments. See Details.
  • Contact: 303-413-7770 or recording@bouldercounty.org

A copy of a military record may be requested by completing a DD 214 Form . The form must be notarized.

Military records will only be provided to the following:

  • Veteran listed
  • Next-of-kin of a deceased veteran

Requests may be made by mail or email.
